Earth Care Ghana is a Ghanaian non-governmental organisation established in 2020 to address the growing challenges of environmental degradation, biodiversity loss, and climate vulnerability across the country. Founded by Ghanaian conservation practitioners, the organisation was created to provide practical, community-centred solutions that protect natural ecosystems while improving the wellbeing of people who depend on them. Earth Care Ghana operates at the grassroots level, working directly with communities, institutions, and stakeholders to promote responsible natural resource management, environmental awareness, and long-term ecological sustainability.
Our work integrates conservation science, environmental education, applied research, and policy advocacy to deliver measurable and lasting impact. We recognise that effective conservation cannot be achieved in isolation from social and economic realities; therefore, our approach links ecosystem protection with sustainable livelihoods, local capacity building, and inclusive participation. By empowering communities with knowledge, skills, and opportunities, Earth Care Ghana is fostering local ownership of conservation initiatives and contributing to a future where Ghana’s natural heritage and communities can thrive together.
Our founding purpose
We were established to protect biodiversity, advocate for sound environmental policy, and sensitize communities to humane, sustainable use of natural resources. Our mandate integrates scientific knowledge with practical livelihood strategies to address the root causes of habitat loss and species decline.
Mission & Vision Statement
Our Mission
To conserve Ghana’s biodiversity and strengthen community resilience through science-based, community-led interventions that improve livelihoods and protect ecosystems.
Our vision
A future where Ghana’s communities and natural world flourish in harmony — powered by renewable energy, sustained by sustainable agriculture, and protected for generations to come.
Our Commitment to the Sustainable Development Goals
Earth Care Ghana aligns its strategy and operations with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), the globally adopted framework for advancing inclusive growth, environmental sustainability, and long-term prosperity by 2030. As a trusted environmental organisation in Ghana, we work with corporate partners, donors, and institutions to translate the SDGs into measurable, on-the-ground impact through standards-setting, environmental advocacy, capacity building, and multi-stakeholder collaboration across the public, private, and people (3P) sectors. Our approach promotes responsible production and consumption, advances green consumerism, and equips students, professionals, and communities with the skills required for the transition to a circular, low-carbon economy. By bridging the gap between environmental awareness and action, Earth Care Ghana provides partners with credible pathways to deliver sustainability commitments, demonstrate ESG impact, and contribute meaningfully to national and global sustainable development outcomes.
